A recent survey by iContact, an e-mail and social media marketing company, found that 25% of small businesses say they hate social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Groupon. The proportion of fans to foes differs by platform and type of business, of course. For example, while 76% of small firms like Facebook, only a third of those in finance and insurance are fond of it. The biggest Facebook fans? Nonprofits (87%) and education (82%) really embrace it. One of the most disliked platforms is Groupon, with 70% of small businesses in the "hate it" category.
