You Know Mobile Is Hot When Even USPS Is a Fan

Everyone is riding the mobile bandwagon -- even the USPS. If you are an e-mail marketer, take note that mobile e-mail open rates were up 34% in the second half of 2011, and rose a whopping 73% for iPads, according to the latest Return Path study. For details, see http://www.mobilemarketer.com/cms/news/research/11667.html . And if postal mail is your channel, well, the U.S. Postal Service has added a new app to its suite of mobile services for you. The new app allows iPhone and iPad users to scan barcodes on shipping labels with the device's camera for convenient tracking of packages and other mail.
